In addition to the scheduled walking tours, Jennifer has a range of services up her sleeve:
Private walking tours can be arranged with pleasure. Just ask. For corporate team-building days, Jennifer can tap into her many years of event planning experience and organise a memorable Gourmet Scavenger Hunt through the streets of Aix en Provence, including clues, tastings and prizes. Wine tastings are a great ice breaker at a hotel or during a conference, but also consider a “blind” cheese tasting to go with the wines. Jennifer has the contacts to present and supply some of the most popular cheeses of the over 500 varieties in France, while creating a fun learning experience.
While some visitors to Provence are happy to laze in the sun with a chilled glass of rosé wine (and why not?!), others want to absorb every part of the culture and heritage of this rich region. Tastes of Provence can help you get straight to that point! Here are some of the adventures we can organise for you:
Personal food shopping: Let’s go to the market together and shop for a gourmet picnic; traditional Lagioule French picnic knife included. Jennifer can also help you shop for the ingredients for a simple French meal, with recipes provided. We can also refer you to a private chef who will come to you and take the effort out of your evening!
Bespoke adventures: You provide the transportation and Jennifer will hop in and take you to some local “artisanal” food producers in the Aix countryside. Provence is renowned for its olive oil mills and goats cheese farms. Why not stop for a handmade ice cream (at the “glacier”) en route? Itinerary planning alone and day trip suggestions are also possible.
It’s not easy starting a new life in Provence, even if it is many people’s dream. After you have found a home, schools, and French language lessons, why not take a break and have some practical fun in English with Tastes of Provence?!
Jennifer will help you come to grips with your new culture and introduce you to the best food addresses in Aix, explain seasonal and culinary traditions and give you the historical context of your new “hood”.
